Well, no pictures again this week, but maybe next week! Here's the latest letter.
Ok, so two stories this week, and the keyboard works this time, so I can use the proper punctuation for excitement! Elder Washburn and I taught the first lesson in spanish on saturday. I had absolutely no idea what I was going to say or how to say it. Elder Washburn was just talking and kept saying stuff and then paused and looked at me. Im thinking "Oh crap, what do i say and how do I say it?" and all of a sudden, just all this Spanish just started pouring out of my mouth and I had no idea what I was saying or how I was saying it! But the person we were teaching apparently understood it all because they were nodding and responding and I just ended up talking for about 4 minutes. Afterwards, Elder Washburn goes "Wow, that was really good, how did you know how to say all that?" and I had no idea! I didn't even remember what I had said! Total gift of tongues moment and it was amazing! 2nd story- Yesterday in the RC, (referral center) I got a chat from a 16 year old girl who wanted to know what we had to do to be saved. I thought that was really awesome. We get talking and she says "i had the missionaries over before, but my parents wouldn't let me get baptized and said the missionaries couldn't come over anymore! It was really sad! So we got to talking and she just all of a sudden says "can you tell me about the temple?" so I started talking to her about the temple and stuff, and we ended up talking about priesthood authority and about her being baptized before and she says "so mine really didn't count. that makes sense." and I'm freaking out because she would be a perfect member but shes only 16 and cant get baptized or have the missionaries over without her parents permission, but I asked if we could chat again and she said she'd love to so I have an appt. with her on Sunday to keep chatting about the temple and stuff! How awesome is that? I'm super super excited!
Mom, congrats on the new phone! hope you like it! I heard you saw the Christensens at the phone store. Hows work going? Do they have you in a new calling at church yet?
Dad- Sounds like you're having a blast with the Spanish branch! Glad to hear you've gotten some hiking in lately! Thanks for the TdF results, I was going crazy! So Elder Washburn and I have started to lift weights every other day, so I'm going to look like Capt. Moroni by the time I leave here! He's off the crutches now but still cant play basketball yet. So yeah we started speaking nothing but spanish in class on monday. Its weird, its gotten to the point where it actually feels kind of un-natural to speak in english! i was talking with Hna. Finnell the other day and I couldn't stop talking in spanish! I was trying to say things in English, but they weren't coming out! It was only spanish! It was really weird! Oh, so Amanda Miller says Hi and that she's going to write you a letter about all the dirt on me... haha We took our handshake picture on Sunday, but it just ended up being really awkward. Elder Petaia and I were on a split, so he was going to take the picture on his camera cause i didn't have mine, and his camera wasn't working so we just ended up holding hands for like 7 seconds and it was really awkward. So when we were finally sure that his camera would work, we shook hands for like 2 seconds and then walked off. It was hilarious!
So its my last week as District Leader(finally!!!!). My bet is on Elder Petaia for next DL. When that kid talks, the whole room just shuts up and listens and it's like he commands the spirit! It's incredible! And he's one of the funniest kids i've ever met! So that's way cool about Alex Beckman going to Richmond too! There is a possibility that I could serve with him if I get transferred to an english speaking area! It happens! Hopefully I don't gain too much weight from all the Mexican food though! Jayci Taylor said she gained 15 pounds from all the food! I'm crossin my fingers! So I still have one bag of Sour Patch Kids, I'm holdin on to that to celebrate with! We're also letting Elder Wheatley's Martinellis "AGE" until our final night here so we can celebrate when we leave! So remember when I told you about Elder Ninja? Well apparently his name is Elder White. He left last week and guess where he's serving? Las Vegas WEST!!!! He might serve in Reno! How crazy is that? You'll have to look out for him! Tell him I say hi, even though I don't think he would know who I am! ahahaha We should be getting flight plans next wekk, so that's exciting! Can't wait to call you guys from the airport. I'll let you know when I'll be there to call you! Hopefully you'll all be able to be home! Ok well times up, so I'll email you all next week! Love you all way more than you know! Miss you. - Skyler

4 weeks down,100 to go
Ok, so I've only got like 20 minutes this week to email! Sorry! mom, happy belated birthday. mallory, happy birthday as well. So the big news of the week is Elder Washburn injured his foot on monday so he's been limping around on crutches. We traded bunks so he has the bottom one until his foot is better, but the bad thing is when he farts at night, the smell drifts up to me and I wake up gagging. Oh well! The spanish is coming along pretty good! We just went over Direct and indirect sentence structure which was wayyyyyy confusing, but I think I'm starting to get it! On monday, we start the phase of the MTC where we speak ONLY in spanish! It's gonna be crazy! I made a phone call in spanish in the RC (referral center) yesterday. The lady picked up, so I said "Hola, come está. Puedo hablar con María Velazquez?" to which she replied in some thing Icouldn't understand. After I paused for a few seconds, she said "who is this?" and as soon as I said I was from the Church of Jesus Christ she hung up. It was really scary! I've been doing lots of online chats though, so thats nice! I saw Amanda Miller over the weekend! I was walking out of my building on Saturday and she and her companions were studying out on this lawn and she saw me and ran over and we shook hands. That's the most female interaction i've had in a month! haha I sat next to her at the fireside on Sunday night and we caught up. It was really nice to talk to someone I knew! Apparently Bishop McCombs never gave her her harmonica, so she was slightly jealous! Oh, speaking of firesides, we just had one by John H. Groberg last night! It was awesome! Oh, and the ban on handshaking and hugging due to the swine flu has finally been lifted! Exciting right? I never thought Id be so excited to shake hands with people! haha the things we take for granted! Oh, so my new favorite scripture for this week is Luke 9:62- "No man, having put his hand to the plough, looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." How true is that? Just thought I'd share that with you all. So thank you all for the letters! They really help get me through the day! Mom, I didn't get your synopsis of Harpers Island, but that's ok, its not a big deal. I was mad last night when the 2nd counselor in our branch presidency said that he was watching the Tour de France yesterday and I accidentally asked him "Who's in the lead???" and my Branch President said "How does that pertain to your salvation?". It wasn't my fault! I blame the 2nd counselor! If you could just let me know who wins when it's over though, I'd totallyappreciate it! So being District Leader is totally exhausting! I don't actually have to do that much, but the fact that I have like 3 extra meetings a week and I constantly have to keep an eye on the district is wearing me down! But the Lord knows more than we do what we're capable of! I feel bad for Elders Clarke, Wilde and Cutler. They just got called to be the next zone leaders! And I thought I had it tough! So I got my 2nd MTC haircut today! Yes, it really does grow that fast! I'm taking it pretty short though! I'lll send some pictures in a little bit. Oh, also! Thank you so much for the Sour Patch kids! Or as I like to say "Niños del remiendo qué es agrio". haha they're gone already! I need to lay off the candy! The shoe goo has come in handy! My nunn bushes were comin apart, but I fixed em. And the laundry bag makes it so much easier! i haven't broken into the toblerone yet, but i will. sorry, but for some reason, the exclamation point key is turning into a ? so i cant do those, and now the shift key isn't working at all. oh well. i guess i can live without proper punctuation for a little bit. so we finally got a new district in the zone last week. i swear derek asays 6 foot 10 doppelganger is in it. not even kidding. its creepy. also, i worked out my 2nd tie trade with elder larose. i keep getting the better end of these tie trades? its awesome? well the district is doing better. elder clark is getting more and more letters now, up from 0 last week. elder wheatley is learning spanish pretty well, elder petaia and beach are getting along better, i think, and i cant complain about anything except the food. thats not too bad right? tell everyone i'm sorry if they've written me and i havent' written them back. im really short on time and i cant respond to all of theletters and support i've gotten but i really appreciate the letters from everyone. they help me through the days. ok, well until next week. i love you all and think about you all all the time. stay safe. love you.

So here is Elder Campbell's latest letter. What a difference 3 weeks makes!
So, wow what a week! First off, I have some good news and some bad news! The good news is, I've been called as District Leader for my district. The bad news is, I've been called as District Leader for my district. Its nice to always know if I got mail or not, but it really sucks to have to tell the other elders that they didnt' get anything! We were taking bets on who would be the new DL once Elder Lewis and his companion left for Guatemala. I said it would be Elder Wilde, but Elder Clark and Elder Cutler were teaching me the 1st lesson and when I told them I was really homesick, Elder Clark committed me to losing myself in the work. As soon as he said that, I knew it was gonna be me. So on Sunday, Pres. Krueger (who reminds me of Donald Trump) came into the class and asked to speak to me. It was all over from that point. I really didn't want to be DL, but the Lord knows better than we do what we need, and this is the perfect opportunity for me to lose myself so to speak! The Spanish is going great! We learned imperfect and preterit this week, which isn't exactly easy, but we're getting the hang of it. Luckily we're only learning 14 tenses in Spanish. Thats out of 28 though!!! It's crazy! But miracles are being witnessed here! One of our subs for the day served with Jeff Olson in Honduras. I dont know if you know who that is, but Juliann and Mallory may know who he is! We had a great devotional by Pres. Rob Steuer of the Ogden Temple. He talked about sacrifice and being happy to sacrifice. It seems like every single thing that's been said since I got here has been said specifically for me! Its amazing! So our district has been telling lots of stories this week, and Ithought it was hilarious when my room comp Elder Wheatley told us hisstory of almost getting his first kiss 2 months before he came on his mission, but turns out the girl was dating his best friend at the time! haha oh also, there's another Elder in my district named Skyler, but his last name is Cutler. Did I already say that? I dont remember much anymore. The last 2 weeks are all one big blur, its ridiculous! So the temple opened up last week! We did our first session and someone from another district got a huge bloody nose right in the middle! Its so beautiful in the Provo Temple though! We learned what the temple is modeled after- The Cloud and Pillar that followed the children of Israel in the desert! How cool is that? Unfortunately, we didn't get to talk to the temple Pres. and ask him questions, so sorry I won't be able to answer yours dad! We get to go again today, but the session should be really small since 2 districts just left our zone! We're getting a new district tonight though! 8 Elders and 4 Hermanas. Amanda Miller gets here today, so hopefully I'll be able to see her sometime and chat. Yes, that IS allowed mallory! haha Juliann- I'm sorry to hear about Mikes job :( Just keep up the faith and good works! DC 121:7 has recently become one of my favorite scriptures- My son, peace be unto thy soul; Thine afflictions will be but a small moment. That scripture has helped me so much. Hopefullyit will help you too! Speaking of favorite scriptures, I just learned the other night that Pres. Monson and I share a favorite scripture!!! DC 84:88! How cool is that? So hows everything going back home? Dad, I cant believe you wait til I'm GONE to shoot the propane tank!!! That figures! haha just kidding. Elder Gropp had a missionary crush on this new hermana in our service group, so whenever we saw her in the lunch room, we'd make sure one of us was there to supervise the conversation. I feel bad, we used to always joke with him about not getting letters from his girlfriend, and he only got 1 while he was here! He and Elder Lewis had to be at the travel office at 5 am to make their flight, and they didn't even wakeup til 5:30! They were getting paged on the intercom for about 30minutes and it was waking all these elders up and no one knew who they were! haha So I've only gained 2 pounds while I've been here! pretty good so far if you ask me! Hopefully I can leave here with only gaining 5 or less pounds. We'll see! I wentto the health clinic. I thought I was getting the flu(oink oink!) so I went there, and the doctor just said I have a virus, not the dreaded pig flu! Thank goodness! They waived the fee, but I needed some antihistamine. It actually took the doctor like 20 minutes to get in there, so I just took some pictures of the office and myself. It waseasy to keep myself entertained. So I recorded the song we sang in choir and next time I send my memory card home, that'll be on there! You can hear me a ton, which is unfortunate, but oh well. I should come home ripped with a 6 pack from all the sit ups I'm doin everynight! Gotta burn off all the fried food calories somehow! Can't wait for that care package! None of the vending machines here have sour patch kids! Yeah, one of my pairs of shoes is coming apart a little, so I figured I'd pre-emptive strike it and fix it before it got too bad! Hopefully they'll last awhile longer! So one of the companionships in my district isn't getting along too well. Elder Petaia, one of the most patient and funniest people I've ever met, got paired with Elder Beach. Elder Beach is very independent and likes to do everything on his own. He also doesn't even communicate or do things with his companion. Its really sad. So I have to talk with Elder Beach about it in his Sr. Companion interview on thursday :( Poor Elder Petaia. He's so patient and kind, but he's struggling! But I told him that's why he got put in the companionship, cause no one else could do it! Ok, well Im almost out of time! Love you all! Thanks for all the letters and love, it really helps me through the days! Talk to you next week!

Skylers latest letter
So i'm down in the bomb shelter doin laundry right now! So wow this week has been intense! We've learned more spanish in the past two weeks than I learned in all my time in Spanish at school! It'scrazy! We're holding entire conversations in spanish already! how cool is that?
So it's awesome not being the new missionaries anymore! We've seen 2 new groups of missionaries get here now and it feels good to not have to walk around with an orange dot on your nametag for a day! Even though I just moved mine to the back of my name tag, just for the memories :) Last weeks arrivals are probably the weirdest missionaries yet. We have one kid on our floor who wears his karate outfit every night and just the top part of the outfit on p-day and to gym. Of course he also wears pants but it's weird... He does flying jump kicks past the open doors at night before we go to bed. I"m not even joking about it. Not many people know his name, so we call him Elder Ninja. We were allowed to watch the fireworks here, but me and Elder Wheatley went on companion exchanges and went back to our room to work out. I heard they weren't that good anyway. We had this weird video to watch before the fireworks where they had a bunch of people dress up as reformers and founding fathers. We couldn't hear a single word that Ben Franklin said because everyone was laughing at his hair the entire time!
Oh, funny story, I was talking with an Hermana in my zone today (yes, I am allowed to talk to them, it just so happens to be that she is really cute haha) and I asked where she was from. She says Dallas and I was like oh thats cool. Then she says "More specifically FlowerMound" and I was like "NO WAY! Do you know the Asays?" Turns out she does! What a weird world right? I also ran into I think Allison Martin is her name, married to Tim Martin? Well I met her little brother in line for a devotional! Weird huh?
We had a devotional from Angel Abrea of the 70 last night! It was way cool. He talked about little miracles in our lives that we take for granted and having faith before even receiving miracles, which definitely seemed like something I needed to hear! My companions retainer fell on me last night. It was gross. But he's mostly stopped YELLING in his sleep. Now he just talks anxiously, but its in spanish so it's ok! haha
Ok my 30 minutes is almost up. If you guys could send your letters in dearelder it would save me some email time to write more, so I'd appreciate that. Hope everything is going well. I love you all! I'll talk to you next week!

Skyler's first week in the MTC
It was touch and go there during this first week of Skyler being gone (at least for me!) We got a quick note from Skyler a couple days after he got there asking for prayers as he was a bit overwhelmed. Since then, we've gotten a letter, I got an email, and another quick note. In each one he has asked for prayers, so please feel free to add yours. Here are some new pictures and some excerpts from the most recent email.
Things are going pretty well here. My companions name is Elder Ammon Washburn. My other room comps are Elders Mathew Wheatley from Heber City and Tyler Henderson from Pocatello. I have a really great district with people from I've been getting lots of letters! Mail is the best time of day, but my District Leader Elder Lewis doesn't always pick it up! I felt bad a few Elders in our district hadn't gotten any letters until yesterday! They were all super jealous of me! haha Unfortunately we're only allowed to read our letters outside of class time, so that basically means when we're doing laundry or before we go to sleep! all over! We're District 38 G by the way. My two spanish teachers, Hermano Del Toro and Hermano Ortiz are native speakers! Hmno. Del Toro dated Eloisa Martinez from Reno! How weird is that? The food here is alright. Nowhere near as good as yours! I'm trying to eat well so I dont' gain a ton of weight! haha it's hard though! Learning the Gospel in Spanish takes a lot of energy! It's really hard so I could use some prayers! Luckily I have a great district to support me and help me! So we're speaking Spanish pretty well now! We always pray and sing in Spanish and we bear our testimonies in spanish! hopefully you got the memory card I sent home in the mail! We've gotten way better since then! Elder Holland spoke in a fireside on Friday. Elders Christofferson, Scott, Perry, Bednar, Oakes and Andersen and Cook were all there too! My whole district sang in the choir! It was awesome! We had the whole 1st Presidency here the other day too! How cool is that?
